Your first breathwork experience is one that can stay with you for the rest of your life. It did for me, and I still remember everything about that first breath session in Wicklow, Ireland, in 2014.
Like many of you, perhaps you have heard a lot about breathwork from friends, online resources, or social media. You may have even heard about Wim Hof (otherwise known as the Iceman) and his amazing ability to withstand the cold using certain breathing techniques he learned.
Regardless of where you came across breathwork, one thing is for certain:
โ
It works.
โ
Itโs powerful.
โ
It can leave you speechless.
โ
It can change your life if you take it up as a practice.
โ
Also known simply as Breathwork, Conscious Connected Breathing (CCB) comes in many forms, differing in style, speed, and duration. However, the core principle remains the same:
๐ No pauses in breathing at the top of the inhale or the bottom of the exhaleโcreating a circular breath.
The speed of your breath and the duration of your practice matter, and we will explore these later.
But first, and most importantly...
โ
If you are new to breathwork, before you embark on one of the best journeys of your life:
๐ Trust your breath.
๐ Trust where it takes you.
๐ Trust the next inhale.
And if possible, find the joy in this practiceโas it moves from Breathwork to Breath-Joy!
Find the joy in showing up to:
Trust is the key!
โ
Breathwork is spreading around the world like the wind.
๐ฌ Itโs free.
๐ฌ Itโs available to all.
๐ฌ Itโs simple to do.
๐ฌ Itโs life-changing.
How you breathe is how you live.
Are you living consciously, taking deep, intentional breaths regularly? Or are you living unconsciously, operating from old and outdated breathing patterns that are conditioned and self-defeating?
Our stored breathing patterns may be driving our livesโbut we can take back control.
โ
Breathwork is a tool that allows you to:
โ
Shatter outdated mental constructs
โ
Release stuck and painful memories
โ
Process emotions from a different place in life
โ
Integrate past experiences safely
Breathwork does not undo the past, but it frees the energy within us that keeps us chained to it.
Many people report feeling lighter after breathwork, as if shedding heavy memories that have weighed them down for years. Whether it's stress from life, work, relationships, or finances, understanding how you breathe during stress helps you take back control of your life.
โ
Breathwork is about being in the present momentโallowing yourself to feel any emotion, memory, or sensation (whether positive or negative) without resistance.
๐ Breathe through whatever arises.
๐ Witness the impermanence of emotions.
๐ Let energy come and go freely.
This is breathwork:
๐จ A detoxification of the body and mind
๐จ A surrender to trust
๐จ A journey of liberation
โ
๐ Keep breathing.
๐ Keep surrendering.
๐ Trust the journey.
The inhale you are on right now is the best inhale youโve ever taken.
Welcome to Evolution of Breath.
